About 495 Kilometers From Edo To Kyoto

Wednesday, March 10, 2010 by Ken Robinson
"Tokaido Milk" - A parody of Hokaido Milk. Tokaido (lit: Eastern Sea Road) was a very important route connecting Edo (modern day Tokyo) and Kyoto during the Edo Period of Japan (1603-1868). Along the Tokaido there were 53 stations that travelers could stop at and spanned, as the milk carton states, about 495km.

Below is the picture of the real milk carton product that the Iwako eraser is a parody of.

The back panel of the corn soup carton Japanese eraser translates as follows:

The green writing at the top of the label reads, "We Apologize If This Soup Has Hardend".

Starting at the top of the white square.

"About This Soup".

"Though it looks like a milk carton, this is actually a very effective eraser! We have a collection of many other fun erasers, so please check out our website".

The Missing Green Motorcycle Japanese Eraser

Tuesday, March 2, 2010 by Ken Robinson
We received an inquiry about why the green motorcycle Iwako Japanese eraser was available in the Motorcycle Eraser Sets but not individually. Was the green motorcycle eraser very rare and that was why it was only available in the more expensive sets, the customer wanted to know? It was simple. We had never posted the green motorcycle eraser, even though we did have the inventory. So for those of you who have waited patently for the green motorcycle erasers, they are now up on the site.

The writing directly to the left and moving to the right reads, "Vegetable Eraser".

The vertical writing in the green band reads the same in both the Japanese and the English right next to it.

Light and Dark Orange Japanese Erasers

Friday, February 19, 2010 by Ken Robinson
As we work our way through the last Dream/Zensinsyoji shipment, we are finding other Japanese food erasers that has the new darker orange color. In the newest sliced orange erasers, the interior of  the orange Japanese erasers is darker than the previous orange erasers. For now, we have stock of the older lighter version which is pictured on the right, as well as the new darker version.

Orange You Glad That Puffer Fish Japanese Erasers Come In 2 Shades

Thursday, February 18, 2010 by Ken Robinson
In  the most recent shipment of Dream/Zensinsyoji puffer fish Japanese erasers, the orange puffer eraser came in a darker shade of orange. We suspect as Dream/Zensinsyoji colors can vary from batch to batch of erasers, this is what has happened here. We will list this darker shade of orange animal eraser along side the lighter version.

We suspect that the darker color eraser will continue in future shipments and the lighter color orange puffer fish eraser will no longer be available once this current inventory is sold out.

We Liked The Dark Blue Packback Japanese Eraser Better

Saturday, February 13, 2010 by Ken Robinson

Iwako makes a traditional Japanese elementary school backpack eraser.  They come in red and blue. We have seen two shades of blue for this Japanese eraser. The darker blue, no longer available, and the lighter blue which is the eraser that we currently have in stock.

The backpack Japanese eraser comes in a Iwako series of items that Japanese school children need for school. The photo on the left is the actual backpack or "randoseru".  They are sturdily built and designed to last the full 6 years of elementary school.

Crowds Of Cupcake Japanese Erasers

Tuesday, February 9, 2010 by Ken Robinson
Both Iwako and Dream/Zensinsyoji offer cupcake Japanese food erasers.  Dream/Zensinsyoji's Japanese food cupcake erasers come packaged in pairs and currently in 3 colors. From Dream/Zensinsyoji, the colors could, without notice, change with any of the upcoming shipments.

Iwako is offering 6 colors of their cupcake Japanese food erasers.  Each eraser is packaged individually. Iwako gives us plenty of notice when they add new erasers and usually sends us preproduction samples to photograph.

As usual, we offer these cute erasers individually and as sets.

Lavender and Purple Dream/Zensinsyoji Cupcake Food Erasers

Wednesday, February 3, 2010 by Ken Robinson
Now we are obsessed with the color variations of the same eraser, we will be posting them as we find them.
Dream/Zensinsyoji seems to have more color variation than Iwako's Japanese erasers.  Pictured is 2 colors of Dream/Zensinsyoji's cupcake eraser food pair erasers. The darker pair is from an older assortment and the lighter pair is more recent
We have more of these cute erasers on order. Right now we are out of stock of both colors. We wonder what colors we will receive in this up coming shipment.
